Stan is an experienced real
estate professional with a history in the industry dating back to his college
days in May of 1979 when he was licensed during his senior year at North
Carolina State University. Since that time, his career has been marked by a passion
for helping clients navigate the complex and diverse world of real estate,
ensuring their investments are profitable and structured in the right way.
Helped by his degree in Agricultural Economics from NC State University and a
minor in Animal Science, he has a unique understanding of agriculture in
Southeastern North Carolina. Combined with his love for the outdoors, hunting
and fishing, he became proficient in representing sellers of large tracts of
farmland, timberland and recreational/hunting properties. After moving back to
his childhood home in Duplin County, he diversified expertise even more in the
insurance industry through his family business and established his own real
estate company. This allowed him to offer a more multifaceted approach to real
estate and to offer clients a comprehensive solution tailored to their specific
needs.
In 1986, this company became
what is now known as Draughon Realty & Appraisal - performing residential and
commercial appraisals for hundreds of clients each year as well as specializing
in brokerage of complex farm properties involving large land tracts and
livestock facilities. While his experience is unmatched in Southeastern North
Carolina, he has stayed mainly with his first love of the outdoors and helping
rural participants in the farming and land business realize their goals of
ownership. As a Certified General Appraiser and a member of the Rural Farm
Managers and Appraisers, his knowledge of the real estate market in rural
southeastern NC is unmatched. By being a large landowner, farmer, and
owner/operator of livestock operations as well as several other businesses, he
has a unique insight into real estate in southeastern NC.
Known for honesty, integrity,
and providing straightforward answers to client’s problems and needs, Stan believes in always working for you the seller to maximize the potential profit
from the operation or sale of your assets. His network of contacts with
other professionals in the real estate industry can help solve problems
including timber valuations, surveys, and alternative marketing solutions like
auction sales. His firsthand knowledge of land rental rates and farm leasing,
swine and poultry contracts, and building cost give his clients access to
multifaceted real estate solutions.
